In the midst of a tremendous period of growth, we have been fortunate to be able to continuously onboard great talent. To better understand what drew them to CHEQ in particular, we sat down with employees across different departments and offices, to ask them one simple question: “Why did you join CHEQ?” While each answer was unique, there were some common themes that kept coming up. Throughout this blog, we’ll highlight some of those themes and respones from 6 CHEQers in people operations, sales development, R&D, research, and management.
“I like how we have cybersecurity expertise that we’re using to help marketers and companies have better campaigns, and help increase their ROI, revenue and forecasting through that.” – Or Silberman, Director of Sales Development
One key theme we noticed in many employee’s responses was an interest in CHEQ’s product offering. CHEQ provides cybersecurity to CMOs and their teams, and is positioned as the leader in Customer Acquisition Security (CAS). Because CHEQ is leading this portion of cybersecurity, and offers a solution catered to marketers that uses their language and keeps their metrics in mind, many individuals want to be a part of continuing to build out that category and see clients succeed through use of CAS products.
CHEQ’s Director of Sales Development, Or Silberman describes his interest in the product: “First of all it’s the product. I like how we have cybersecurity expertise that we’re using to help marketers and companies have better campaigns, and help increase their ROI, revenue and forecasting through that. So, something that really resonated with me was the motivation around the product. Also the total addressable market is massive. Nearly every marketer can benefit from this technology and we’re seeing a lot of demand as awareness of this category increases.” He further explains the similarities he sees with CHEQ’s unique product and positioning with that of previous companies he’s worked for: “After being at high-growth companies for about 10 years, I really saw the potential of CHEQ to become something big. It’s the product, the market, and the current stage we’re at. There are people joining in new roles every day. I see similarities with my previous company, OwnBackup, in terms of growth and the value of what we can deliver to the market. I can definitely see some potential for growth here, it’s a similar rocketship environment.”
Sharon Uda, CHEQ’s VP of R&D seems to share a similar sentiment when she describes how she’s been able to be part of the team that is building the product: “I like that I have the opportunity to make an impact, build the product, create new things to scale. I also like that CHEQ really created a new category. This level of cybersecurity for marketers didn’t exist before, and we were able to build it from the ground up to now be a successful category.”
Growth & Potential
“I feel we’re heading in a very good direction, and I have strong confidence that we will continue to be successful.” – Sharon Uda, VP of R&D
Additionally, Sharon and other employees noted the exciting growth that CHEQ is experiencing and the potential for the category to grow even more as adoption by marketing teams at large continues to expand. While leading businesses have already become aware of the threat of invalid traffic as it relates to their business initiatives, many additional businesses are starting to catch on. This makes this current time period an especially exciting time to be part of CHEQ.
Sharon describes: “For the first time, I feel like I’m part of something that is going to be big, and to be part of a group that is helping the company grow at a high level. Previously, I was at NICE, which today has 6,000+ employees. It was a successful and agile company, but I felt my ability to impact and make changes was limited. At Checkmarx, which had around 400-600 employees, I experienced extensive growth and was really part of helping the company scale. And now at CHEQ I see some similarities. Every idea that I have, every process that I wanted to improve was welcomed and recognized. And I feel similarly about CHEQ. I feel we’re heading in a very good direction, and I have strong confidence that we will continue to be successful.”
Toby Arbel, Head of People at CHEQ shares a similar mindset when it comes to growth: “I really wanted to be part of a journey, and contribute whatever I could contribute to the process. The passion and ambition that CHEQ had was the reason I decided to join. Since then, I definitely got what I signed up for. What’s really exciting is that we keep getting better and better. We’re bringing in the right talent that knows what to do. I really believe the sky’s the limit with CHEQ.”
People & Leadership
“We have one of the best leadership teams in the industry in terms of maturity, experience, and people who have built successful companies before.” – Eyal Tocker, General Manager of EMEA & APAC
Perhaps one of the most compelling reasons for joining, that nearly every employee shared, was the impressive leadership that they felt they could trust. Many CHEQers believe that the people they work with come from impressive backgrounds, have strong skill sets, and are willing to work together to accomplish a common goal.
As Eyal Tocker, General Manager of EMEA & APAC says: “I met some of the leaders like Guy Tytunovich (CEO) and Omri Tamir (COO), and I felt like they knew what they were doing. There were already people here who had been part of very successful unicorns, so I felt it was a great team. In fact, I believe we have one of the best leadership teams in the industry in terms of maturity, experience, and people who have built successful companies before.”
Chen Yotvat, Head of Operations at CHEQ agrees. She says: “First and foremost, I joined because of the people I know and respect who were joining CHEQ and seeing the potential in CHEQ. Omri was my manager at Datorama. We were on the same team and have become friends over the years. I also started to hear more and more about CHEQ through additional connections and former colleagues like Toby as well.”
She continues by adding: “It means a lot when both the leaders of the company and the employees can communicate in a few simple words why they’re here and what they’re aiming for. It’s something that you can just feel in CHEQ. It’s one team, one dream. It doesn’t matter if you are a more technical employee or part of a go-to-market team, everyone understands the bigger picture and ultimate goal we are after.”
Technology & Advanced Knowledge
The level of expertise and highly technical backgrounds that drive CHEQ’s technology, has also been an important factor for many employees. Refael Filippov, Security Researcher goes on to explain, “Most of the time it’s fascinating. Each of my team members has a different background and past experience in different areas, so many issues that we work on get analyzed from multiple perspectives, which is super beneficial.”
He continues to say: “From my perspective, there is a lot of programming and testing involved. Previously, I’ve worked in cybersecurity but the world of marketing is new and exciting to me. We’re able to help our clients solve a lot of their challenges. For marketers without a cybersecurity solution it’s not going to be a question of ‘Am I going to get financially hurt by invalid traffic?’ but ‘How bad am I going to get hurt?’ – And the answer for the latter is most likely really bad. So I enjoy being able to help solve that problem through our technology.”
While each employee has unique motivations for joining the team at CHEQ, we commonly hear these reasons at the core of many of these decisions. As the company continues to grow, we are looking for additional highly motivated individuals with new perspectives to join our rocketship.
